The North Rhine-Westphalian Academy supports two research projects for 15 years

How to social systems function? How do people organize themselves in writing and language? These are questions that underlie two research projects in Cologne and Bonn that require extensive research and editing over the next several years. Thanks to funding from the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts, the scientists can pursue their research until 2029. The Cologne research team is devoting itself to “Editing Franconian Capitularies” under the direct of Karl Ubl, a team of researchers in Bonn is working on a “Text Database and Dictionary of Classic Mayan” under Nikolai Grube.
