Site code RBC given by Corpus of Maya Hieroglyphic Inscriptions (1975:23-24; 1982:185-187; 1999:187-189; 2012; 2016); cited by Riese (2004), Mathews (2005). The site name Río Bec encompasses at least twenty groups within an area of 10 square kilometers: Groups A, B, C, D, E, F (I), G, H, J, K, L, M, N (VI), II, III, IV, V, VII, VIII, O, P (Andrews 1988:128). Alternative name ‚Rio Bec‘ often without accent (e.g. Sulak 2000); ‚Ixtinta‘ for Río Bec, Group A is contained in Sapper (1895:186).
Location of Río Bec, Group B, verified with and coordinates retrieved from Google Maps Web Services (accessed July 23, 2015). The geographical coordinates of Río Bec, Group II with five sculptured monuments are: 18.35653°N and -89.37438°E (Sulak 2000:92). Stephan Merk provides geographical coordinates for Rio Bec A (18°22.850’N, 89°21.483’W), Rio Bec B (18°22.504’N, 89°21.525’W) and Rio Bec C (18°22.474’N, 89°21.444’W) (personal communication, January 6, 2016).
